Snipes Mountain AVA

We spend an afternoon with Todd Newhouse of Upland Vineyards. Newhouse, whose family owns Upland, was primarily responsible for getting approval of Snipes Mountain, a new appellation in the Yakima Valley near Sunnyside, Wash. Grapes were first planted on Snipes Mountain in 1917 by William B. Bridgman, and some of those vines remain today.
