Clore Center receives $16K from fundraiser

PROSSER, Wash. — The Walter Clore Wine & Culinary Center received $16,000 from this year’s Moteur de Vine benefit ride.

The ride, in its second year, gives participants a look at Washington’s grape-growing regions.

This year’s participants explored wineries and vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley American Viticultural Area. The trip included lunch at Northstar Winery prepared by Prosser chef Frank Magaña (Picazo 7Seventeen), a tasting at Leonetti Cellar and an evening of festivities played host to by Dunham Cellars.

Next year’s ride is scheduled to take participants to Lake Chelan, the state’s newest AVA.

Last year’s inaugural ride through the Yakima Valley, Horse Heaven Hills and Red Mountain AVAs raised $12,500 for the Clore Center.
